Structured literacy, the most effective approach for reading instruction, is the umbrella term used by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) to describe evidence-based instruction aligned with the Knowledge and Practice Standards (KPS). It emphasizes the explicit teaching of systematic word identification and decoding strategies which is beneficial for most students but essential for those with dyslexia.
